I just recently snagged a Farer Lander as a fun alternative to my ARF SD43. It’s a cool retro feel with bold color and excellent attention to detail. Not for everyone but I enjoy it.

A few days back, i was talking to a friend for a theory of mine about "sunburst" dials.
I think that in most factories, the black dialed diver is more kind of a "tool watch" specified, something
that has been followed since the beggining.
So, most black dialed divers does not have any surface formation - polishing, to be easily and safely "disappear"
in low light conditions, leaving every possible reflection to hands, lume, markers, etc.
Do you think that this has any to do with reality or it is just hobbist thoughts?

To be honest, I have never taken part in scuba diving so I cannot say how best to have the dial “read” underwater.This is an Omega service dial I bought and put on a Helson Sharkmaster. This service dial has some textured surface area and it can have a slight sunburst effect (I did not get a good photo unfortunately). Not as much of a sunburst like the IWC, but it does have a little.
