An interesting read.

I do not always agree with Jose's opinions, but I must credit him for the level of research he throws into all his posts.

Most of this, we already know: About the fabricated story, Stallone's unexpected watchshop find on a casual walk in the city, how he loved the larger Panerai dial numbers which made it easier for him to read time, using one for the Daylight movie shoot, then gifting them to his friends (including Arnold), etc.

However this post outlines things in a sequential manner, is well researched, and leaves minimal room for doubt.

Jose is very fickle in his feelings for Panerai....

He goes on and on about how the first PAMs were just re-dialed Rolex, as if Rolex was anything more than a assemblage of parts itself. Then he tries to sell you a print on Panerai history for $$$.

That’s an interesting interpretation of his feelings. To me he’s always come across as a passionate expert and devotee of the brand, who is obsessed with cataloguing its history in relentless detail - warts and all (and my god there are plenty of warts!).

Nice reading. Thanks. I am to deep into these watches to let the truth change that. I think that might be the case with the author too.
