Cool thread and some beautiful pieces. The timeline / history of these things is quite mindboggling to me.

Found this going through my dad’s stuff…no clue on the origin, maybe won in a poker game, lol.

It has a fob from the Cadillac motor company, which my dad worked for once upon a time, but the fob was engraved with another guy’s name.

It wouldn’t run, but it was easily fixed, the balance wheel had popped out of its place (a divot, rather than a jewel), and a simple removal and reassembly has it running well, keeping time, and ticking louder than a grandfather clock.

It’s missing a crystal. Anything I need to know other than “measure the opening and order that size?”

Some very nice PWs in this thread!

I always liked pocket watches and gathered up a few over the years. One is at the top of this RWCcc thread and two more are down toward the bottom.

Found this going through my dad’s stuff…

The 'Engorsel' reminds me of the American brand 'Ingersoll', no way to know if they are related for sure (one L or two at the end? minute hand is in the way). We called Ingersoll, Westclox etc. pin lever pocket watches 'dollar biscuits' when I was a kid because they sold for a few dollars and were thick as a biscuit.
They made low $$ wrist watches too.
