I am a long time rep collector and, in particular, PAM collector. But in the past couple years, I've laid off the hobby, mainly because I'm a perfectionist and I couldn't stand the numerous flaws that were present in even the best modded pam reps.
Well, the new H factory pams have brought me back, and in a big way. My 26 arrived last week and my 318 arrived this morning. I'm simply blown away by not what only appears to be an elimination of almost all previous flaws, but an actual increase in production quality as well.
Both of my new pams have meticulously machined crown guards and crowns - something that was often lacking in my previous watches. The lume actually GLOWS. I'd say it rivals (but may not quite be equal with) the Ziggy lumed pams I have owned. The lume isn't an ugly green, and the AR isn't blue. Dial font is spot on, and "l swiss l' placement is identical to the gen-at least in my eye.
The vast and sudden improvement in these PAM reps is something I thought we'd never see. I was convinced that the rep factories were deliberately fixing one flaw while creating another--an attempt to string us along, getting us to buy more and more reps and the quality of the watches slowly improved. These watches completely undermine that theory. In my opinion, PAM's just went from some of the poorest out-of-the-box reps to possibly the very best.
The only let down is the lower quality, low beat asian movements, but these can be easily replaced with swiss movements for a couple hundred bucks or less. And at the unbelievable price-point these watches are selling for, it's a completely minor concern.
Here are a few pictures.
