Am I the only one who thinks the old Breitling replicas are better than the new ones? I think the new replicas are just less detailed. When the GF factory was raided, I thought I was done buying Breitling replicas. I'm currently looking for old Breitling replicas like the Bentley, Chronomat Evolution, and Super Avenger.

I’m new to Breitling reps as of a couple months ago, and currently have an Avenger GMT and Navitimer GMT. I don’t have any experience with GF so I don’t know what I’m missing but I can say I do enjoy the quality of the ones I have, both of them being BLS I believe.

i would never tell you that you are wrong for feeling the way you do, but I am curious if you have any examples you could provide me with respect to the less-detailed elements?

I do hope you are able to find the older ones you are looking for.

Yes, I don't think BLS Factory is bad, but especially with the Avengers, I think they didn't get it as good as they did with GF. GF copied every detail 1 to 1: logo, function, and appearance. Here's a comparison photo to the original Avenger.

Thank you for the response. Those are impressive. Also, I misspoke, my Avenger GMT is actually B50 as neon_7 had pointed out in the m2m post that it took the detail-oriented approach to repping the watch farther than BLS.

Was BLS mostly determined as the closest replacement for GF? I thought I saw something that there was a GOF after GF was shut down, but don't know anything about that.

BLS was the only alternative, the other factories like TF or ANF weren't even close to GF. GOF never existed as a factory, I think.

Ah got it. I appreciate the insight there. How has your experience been with the 7750 movements in seemingly all of the chrono models? Any concerns on them? Looking for older watches seems risky because you don't know how much life is in them, how they were treated.

Do you do any servicing work on your watches?

I have a TF Factory Chrono Avenger 7750 that stopped working after two years. I don't think it's worth servicing it again. Yes, the fact that the older watches might not work anymore is a small risk I'd be willing to take, because it would also be worth servicing them, as they are of better quality. Maybe I'm just a fan of the old Breitling models and am sad that these rep watches are no longer being produced.

I respect that, and I am grateful for your time. I hope you are able to find what you are looking for. If you decide to become a supporter there is a forum you can take part in where you can tell members what you are looking for. This way you are not just waiting for things to hit the m2m section. No guarantees it would amount to much, but I will say that I sometimes go through it to see if there is any interest in anything I have.

Yes, 100%. But that's on the brand as well.

I used to be a huge Breitling fan, now, not at all. When you see a luxury brand start putting sports team logos on their stuff , you know sales suck and the end is near. Their design team sucks now. The old Chrono-Evo were the very best. Things started going down hill with their SuperOcean Heritage models and those basketball sized pips on the bezel of their other models. It's sad really. I have not purchased a rep or gen breitling since I purchased my genuine chrono-evo in 2008.
