The good folk at MUFF Watches kindly sent me a couple of their watches for review a little while back and here it is. Yes, a first AFIK, an authorised gen review on a rep forum! MUFF are a UK based company and the watch is China made with a quality Japanese (Miyota) Movement. The case is a solid stainless steel job unlike a lot of cheaper gens which tend to be plated pot metal. It has a screw down back and water resistant to 10ATM and features a unidirectional bezel with minute ticks and 120 clicks as per the dive watch standard. The finish is a very high polish, one of the shiniest I have seen. This is a big watch, the case is 44mm without the crown. We did a water resistance test and the watch passed with flying colours.
As you can see the dial is clear and easy to read with the date at 4 and large numerals. It does have some lume, nothing special but as good as anything in this price range. The straps are silicon rubber, not cheap PU and are soft, flexible and comfortable to wear. They have two keepers and are large enough for most any wrist. The buckle is branded and a good heavy Seiko style. As expected from Japanese quartz the accuracy is spot on. The watch has lost no appreciable time in the last two weeks.
The MUFF Diver comes in a wide range of colours and a chrono version is in the works along with a more dressy version with just a touch of bling. Below are some of the colour combos available.
Yes, that last one is a Brazilian MUFF The entire range of 10 can be seen here: http://www.muffwatches.com/
All in all a nice work/beach/swim watch for the money (69 pounds) with the added bonus of being a talking point. These will make great beaters and should withstand rough treatment well and come with the Trailboss seal of approval. I have one to give away so stay tuned for the GAW thread.
