I couldn't stand DSN's mismatched white hands. Really really were irked by them. SO I relumed them. Unfortunately I tinted them a tad too much, but I actually like the results.

So here is my 201a;

DSN case
DSN dial
relumed hands with Noctilume
Seadbo CG
Oncyte crown (nice rounded edges)
DSN caseback with paint removed at some points
Gunny Caitlin 2 strap
Novesh springbar GPF-mod buckle

IF FGD does another run I'll swap that dial in, but man I'm happy now.

Actually yes & no.

The 201a for a small select early few have the mismatched hands, i.e. white hands and very aged dial. Reason for this was the varnish used on the numerals. Once Panerai realised this, they switched varnish and as such all subsequent 201a's have normal aged dials and hands, well mild differences, but nothing as stark as the white hands and aged dials.

BTW: did you get my PM over at RG? Also, are you done with my diamond paste? :D

Overall the watch looks great. I agree that you got a little carried away with tinting the lume on the hands. The dial should either be darker or roughly the same shade as the hands. I haven't seen any gen pics that had darker hands than dial. Great watch, though!

haha agreed, its a new version ;)

I'll probably relume it in a couple of weeks. I water tested it and found the crystal gasket is leaking. I think I need a new one or to repress it in, any tips?

Yikes, I've never repressed a crystal before. I would send an email to vaccum and ask for some advice, maybe? Any chance you could take it to a local watchsmith to repress the crystal for you? If you need a new gasket, I would check with Jackson or Davidsen. Jackson would be cheaper, most likely...

Jackson aint got none, checked. Will check with DSN.

I've heard mention of crystal glue, curious as to what it is, but yeah, I'll ask the experts :)
