How do I send you my watch?
First of all send me an email at this address:
[email protected]
please state the make + model of your
watch, movement if known, what you want done and any other information
you think might be relevant. I will then email you with an initial
estimate, which if you accept I will send the details you need to send
your watch. At this stage I will also let you know my current service
queue time. (This doesn't include the time the watch spends in
estimate) If I am too busy to accept any work I will add you to my
waiting list and then contact you when I need you to send me the
watch.
2. What happens after I’ve sent the watch?
I will confirm receipt of your watch within 3 days of receiving it. Sometimes I miss
the post and have to collect it. Please only email if you haven't heard
within 3 days.
Your watch will then join my service queue. I will try my best to ascertain if any new
parts will be needed at this stage and include them in the estimate,
however it is impossible to know for sure until the movement it
stripped down. Once the watch is stripped down, I will contact you
again if more parts are required than I initially thought.
3. What if im not happy with your estimate after you’ve inspected it
and don’t want to go ahead?
No problem at all, you just need to pa y £20 to cover the cost of
postage back to you and my time for looking at it. This £20 cost does
include postage but all servicing prices etc do not unless stated.
4. What's included in a full service?
Completely strip movement.
Inspect all parts individually under a minimum 10x magnification.
Clean parts in watch cleaning machine.
Rebuild and lubricate.
Regulate watch.
Change seals if necessary, grease seals and test waterproof.
Test watch for minimum 3 days.
Return with 3 month guarantee (I reserve the right to not offer this
if I feel the watch is in particularly bad condition)
5. How does your part repair charge work?
If when received I can do it as a part repair I
will charge accordingly. If the watch is not fully serviced then read
this carefully I DO NOT GUARANTEE THE WATCH TO BE WORKING AFTER I HAVE
ATTEMPTED A PART REPAIR, WHETHER IT WAS WORKING WHEN IT CAME IN OR
NOT. The reason is some are so dirty that even my slightest
involvement such as removing the movement from the case can cause the
watch to stop. Im no longer going to spend time trying to get a dirty
watch working without servicing it. I invariably end up chasing my
tail with it and wasting so much time.
6. How do I pay?
Once I have completed the work I will email you for payment via bank
transfer or PayPal. The watch will then be returned.
Please note that any times I do give are an estimate, sometimes I may
take a little longer than I initially thought, I do have a full time
job and a family and things do arise from time to time that can delay
my watch repair work. Rest assure d i will always keep you informed
should this happen.
Terms and conditions.
Full service.
1. I will inspect the watch initially to ascertain its condition and
if it needs any parts however this can only be fully ascertained once
the watch is fully stripped down and could result in more parts being
required than I initially thought. These additional parts need to be
paid for.
2. A full service is the best way of resolving any issues with a
movement. If the movement is in poor condition there is no point
fixing one problem, when another one is just around the corner. The
whole movement needs to be working correctly for the watch to work.
That being said the majority of full services will get the watch in
good working order however they are rep movements and sometimes there
will be nothing I can do to fix it. Its rare but if it happens its not
my fault and the service still needs to be paid for.
3. Regulation. I will regulate as close to zero as possible, my aim on
calibres such as clone 7750/2824/2836 is within 20 seconds.
4. Date change. I will get it as close to midnight as possible but
between 1155 and 1205 is my target. If parts are worn it may not be
possible to get it this close, the time it changes may even vary.
5. Generally I offer a 3 month guarantee on a full service. I reserve
the right to not offer this or not cover certain parts of the movement
as I see fit. Postage is always the responsibility of the customer
even if im repairing it as part of my guarantee.
Part repairs.
1. Part repairs come with no guarantees. Fixing one problem is not
ideal if the rest of the watch is in poor condition. Most of the
movements I see are in poor condition, there is a reasonable chance I
will refuse to to do the part repair because of this but it will be
judged on a case by case basis. I would advise to expect you will have
to have it fully serviced, if you don’t it’s a bonus.
2. If I have serviced your watch, any guarantee offered does not cover
water damage whether it passed the waterproof test or not. Water can
destroy a movement together with the dial and hands and be very
costly. I cant cover the cost of this. I also have no way of knowing
if it was user error. i.e. the crown not being screwed down prior to
getting wet etc.
Please read and take in all the above points. Its important if you
want me to work on your replica watch. Remember these are Replica
movements and not made to the same specifications as the gens. Quality
control is low and parts are often poorly manufactured. I cant work
miracles but will always try my best with them. The risk in the end
has to rest with you as the customer when it comes to replicas
