Timeline below. Long story short, they sent the wrong model. QC pics weren't detailed enough for me to catch it. My question at this point is, what would be a good outcome for this situation considering everyone says never send a watch back to China?

12/26/22
Placed order
12/28/22
QC pics received/approved.
12/30/22
Shipped
1/14/23
Received order. Emailed InTime immediately to notify that the wrong watch was sent.
1/15/23
InTime asked for pictures. Sent pictures. He then asked me to follow up after CNY holiday on 2/5.
2/5/23
Follow up email to InTime
2/7/23
2nd follow up email to InTime
2/8/23
InTime responds saying that they need to discuss with the factory
2/9/23
InTime responds saying that they need to know what the issue is (I'm a little frustrated at this point)
2/10/23
Back and forth explaining that they sent me the wrong model watch. Provided model numbers, explained difference, provided images, etc. Way overboard imo
2/12/23
InTime offers to send me the dial of the model I ordered
2/13/23
I decline stating that I just want the watch I ordered as the dial is not the only difference
2/14/23
InTime offers to do exchange. I have to pay for shipping. Will take at least 2 more months and everything I have read says to not send back.

Hello and welcome to RWI!

You found the right place!

If you haven't already, please take some time to read the sticky threads in the new members area (in all subsections), as they contain lots of information for newcomers and, most importantly, our forum rules which you need to know, and of course ideally to follow, to get the best out of your experience on RWI!

A good starting point is this list of links to the most important RWI resources:

As to your question: Apart from the fact that it is generally frowned upon on RWI to post a complaint about a TD as a new member's first post, without any introduction, let me suggest to you that you post your question in the correct sub section (TDs / Intime) as you will get much more exposure there with a much higher chance of responses. If you like, I can move this thread there for you. Let me know if you'd like me to do that.

If you need further assistance, please feel free to contact me or @Feefo during your time as a newbie. That's what we are here for!

Thanks for the welcome message! My intention was not to complain. Is there something about my post that I can edit to make it not read as a complaint? I am honestly just looking for some wisdom because it feels like I'm about to eat $500.

Don’t worry, my friend. No harm done. Criticism and complaints are actually OK, as long as they are factually correct, legitimate and not offensive.

I was basically just explaining the culture on here, which includes that even if a complaint is legitimate, established members may think that it's a bit rude to post this as the no. 1 posting by a new member. That's all.

Don’t worry about it too much. 😉

So, do you want me to move your question to the correct sub section? Much more likely to get replies there and if older members should give rude answers, @Feefo and I are here to watch out for our newbies. We want a civilized debate culture here, without people insulting each other!

Let me know if you'd like us to move your question to the Trusted Dealer / Intime section for more visibility and I or @Feefo will gladly move it for you!

I appreciate it. I think I'll try to rephrase in a new post to avoid anyone taking it as a complaint. Thanks again

Best plan to save all the hours you have put
In
. Would have been.

Send TD image of wrong watch
Send image of watch you ordered
Copy link of intention to sell on RWI
Order the watchyou wanted again explaining your dissapointment to TD.

Sell the watch on here you would prob get money back minus shipping very quickly.
Chances are TD would offer you a little incentive for your trouble.

Its all part of the Fun.
Cos you are preaching to the choir.
A lot of members been on here for a long time as well as the TDs that been on here and done a lot of business for a very long time will tell you you have to have patience. This is a marathon, not a race, etc. etc. be prepared to take some losses and be prepared to take some wins, it’s all part of the fun remember you don’t have to play if you don’t want to .
I personally like the excitement.
Think of it of like being at the casino if you lose you enjoy the process and you go back again and try to win. Yeah we know the house always wins in the big picture but that’s life just play the damn game because it’s a really short game of life in the end and we all just wish it could last a lot longer. Maybe we can get a few more wins.
enjoy my friend it’s only money.

Best option is
1. Don’t unsealed the watch and sell it as brand new in the forum here and Iam sure you will sell it very quickly.
2. Asks TD to give you a discount and purchase the right one.
3. Waiting new watch

Welcome to RWI,
@eBoy already said the basics. Some unwritten rules or good-to-knows in this kind of situations:
- never send a watch back to China, unless you want to take a big chance. Some did successfully (albeit with getting the watch/replacement back in a matter of at least 3 months, probably more) but you'll be better off striking a deal with the TD or selling the watch here m2m.
- if you get a flawed/damaged/wrong watch find a solution with the TD. It may be a hard communication, we know the responsiveness isn't always the best and you may very well spend months also in this. But if you keep a civil and open conversation and never become demanding or threatening, calling in RWI to mediate as a last resort will be alot easier because you will have done nothing wrong. If you take a quarrel to FUBAR level, there's not much even RWI can do. Consider this is still an illegal activity with intrinsic risks you take personally, you have to account for that, it's not amazon. This also means that you will have used all reasonable endeavors to find a solution with the TD without posting a "do not buy from..." post before calling in RWI.
- you need to be aware that any costs for shipping will be on you (except you negotiate otherwise with the TD). What will also be on you will be possible fees on reimbursement bank transfers. If the you bought a 300 $ watch from the TD and he reimburses you via bank transfer, he will transfer the 300 $, his costs. The bank will possibly take 20-35$ in fees. Those are on you. Why should a TD give back more money he received?

The best way is always to find a solution with the TD that minimizes risks and costs for each party. As @AFRF11 said, best to sell the watch m2m at minimal loss and strike a deal with the TD for a discount on your next purchase. In case of damaged watch the same applies, get it repaired locally, get some kind of deal/discount/participation on costs from the TD. Ideally, RWI does not come into play at all. In all of this, posting a complaint in the forum will only make things worse for you.
