Tank Solo XL

Hey guys,

seems like there are a lot of threads about the quartz versions of the tank solo but none about the bigger model with automatic movement. Has anyone ever tried it?
There are a few different makers, don’t really know which one to choose from.

I have the ZF version in SS which I think should be on the ' Consensual List ' my one has the correct cabachon shape and IMO is unrecognisable from the gen on the wrist . I don't think the ZF is made anymore .

I would therefore choose the AF version they make great Cartier reps and the in the pics on TD sites ( I have also seen a video ) it looks spot on , and it has the a2892 movement. The straps are always crap on them and need replacing . You can either get a gen strap , or have one made custom made in an exotic skin by somebody like ZicZac leather . Putting a quality strap on it takes the watch to a new level and really sets it off .

Thank you! I managed to find a ZF with bracelet on Watchoutlet. Only thing that bothers me is the Miyota on the ZF, last one I had wasn't reliable and would stop without reasons.

Would you be able to tell me where you saw the video of the AF version?

It was on TrustyTime but he no longer lists the AF version so no video now . Nothing wrong with Miyota movements they are genuine and made by Citizen, are you sure you wound the watch ? . They are noisy though as they have a one way unilateral rotor which winds the watch one way and swings freely the other .

So if you don't want a Miyota the *** AF ** is the version you want as it has an ETA Asian clone 2892 . They ( AF) don't do a bracelet version . To be honest I think the bracelet version looks shit and was an after thought by Cartier to please people who like a bracelet watch . The tank is a classic dress watch and should be worn on a beautiful leather or exotic skin strap IMO .

Hi! I am interested in the Tank xl.
I have a doubd about the AF. The TD sites states that it is 31x33 which is not the right size. But from pics it looks tge size is correct. Do any of you have it and can confirm it is the righr size? And what are it most important flaws?
