Talk me off the ledge! 100xl chronographs!

Ok,
I may or may not have been bitten by the Cartier bug. I am looking at picking up one fromAndrew over at trusty but am looking for opinions before I jump in.

So, to all you Cartier aficionados, is this a good starter piece for a fella with a 8” wirst? I recently gave up suits and am going more business causal, so sort of thought this might be a good intro.

I would really appreciate your input and thoughts.

Ps. I was thinking of upgrading it to gen movement, crystal, dial, and strap. If that helps.

I dont have much experience with the 100xl chronographs. They do look great.

Another option would be the 40mm Santos XL. Wears slightly bigger than a 40mm Submariner.

If you end up getting the chronograph. Would love to see it

I think you will like the Santos Chrono. If you can get one with the 7753 it's a super rep. The only thing I'd suggest is getting yourself a gen gator strap or a nice custom one. That will put the finishing touch on it. I had one a long time ago and regret selling it. Wears perfect on a large wrist.
