Hi guys,

I`m looking to get a Tag Chrono and would love to get one of the super reps, I`ve came across this watch http://puretimewatch.com/product/carrera-chrono-43mm-f1-limited-edition-black-cf-dial-green-bracelet-swiss/

is it worth me spending 900USD when this chrono http://puretimewatch.com/product/carrera-chronograph-2009-black/ can be purchased for 318USD?

I`ve read through By-Tor`s reviews though I guess all the Tag`s have also been updated since the review.

your thoughts and feedback and / or any pointers is the right direction would be much appreciated.

much appreciated in advance,
Flux.

Best Super Rep TAG is the Aquaracer 300m standard and chrono. Those watches are nearly flawless.

No the 900 is not worth it...

yes it might be a swiss movement, but it's NOT, i repeat NOT a genuine TAG movement, the rotor is added after, TAG Heuer do not use that grade movement in this watch, thus the blue screws will tell its a fake, even though its technically a swiss movement.

you would be better off buying the cheaper version and looking for a dealer that stocks silver screws.

alternatively, buy the expensive one, and look at Ofrei for a replacement screw set and change the blue ones, however the rotor design will still be incorrect as it will have asian striping.

I've got a post called 'how to spot a fake Tag Heuer' that will show you the biggest tells.

If you don't have any clue what I'm talking about just ask me:)

hi josh, im very new to all this so forgive me if i'm being a noob.
you say you can replace the blue screws with silver, how easy is this sand dose it affect the watches timing if the screws are not at a certain tension? i have no experience with watches but have a good knowledge of electronics.

Haha not to worry, im also a noob, at everything besides TH, and even then i'm still a noob :p

umm i've never done it myself, but i know a guy that did, he had no problems, as far as im aware the screws fit 1:1 for the gen set and you shouldnt need to worry about over tightening them. if you are still worried about the screws or damaging, i suggest you go buy some siver paint and a fine brush, will work just as well i imagine if you can get a nice thin and smooth coat.
