Here is a quick review/overview of the Quartz Tag Heuer Carrera "Quartz" offered by TimeShop:
I am CONUS and the transaction from TimeShop to my door step was like 10 days - this was a $98.00 transaction - I am very pleased!!
Overall at a glance it is a very nice watch; it is clean and has reasonably good weight (although it is a quartz). If you are comparing it to the GEN, you may want to save the extra money and go for the 7750; however, if you are like me and you are DEFINITELY out of room on your watch winders and you want a nice looking watch, this one is more than sufficient.
Front View: No real problems noted here, again the watch looks very clean. Note that the date window is at the 6 o'clock, whereas the GEN has it at te 3 o'clock marker. Also, on the GEN, the seconds hand is the hand at the 9 o'clock marker (I think this one is a faux) , but this one has the seconds hand at the 6 o'clock marker.
The dial is black and has the appropriate "Tachymetre" markings and the words are spelled correctly - the "100" mark was smudged. The Tag logo on the dial is very clean.
It measures approximately 43mm without the crown and 12mm deep.
The deployment clasp is as per GEN. Of the ones I've seen in person and on the bay, this one is right in line with those. Note that some have the Tag logo without the "Tag Heuer" words - I have seen them both ways. I had a slight problem with the clasp, it fell apart in my hand; however, I used my watch tools to embed the little dow and I have not had a problem since.
The side view: no problems here. The leather strap is like any other leather replica strap - it is stamped "Tag Heuer" and "Genuine Leather" as per protocol. It can stand to be replaced -or- it can be left alone - I will leave it.
Close Side: Looks fine - The crown bears the correct logo
I took a pic of the case back. It is different from the GEN (the GEN has a display case back), but it goes along with the quartz theme. I am totally unsure if it is waterproof - I hope to never find out.
All in all I am pretty satisfied for the price. This is a trial and if I end up wearing it more that four of five times, it just makes it just that much easier to buy the 7750. I would rate it a 6.8 out of 10. Not too bad for a quartz watch!
I hope this helps!!!
