TAG Carrera 2008 or Grand calibre 36..which is the better buy

Hi guys

I haven't heard much about either of these and was hoping some of the tag experts could chime in... which is the better over all rep.

I started a thread a couple of weeks ago about the calibre. but it seems little is known about it..has anyone bought one?

I dig the 2008 carrera...I think I could pull it off easier than the calibre...any one own one?(the newer 43mm one.)

Any advice and or pics would be great.

i like the carrera day/date personally. not much is known about the 7750 version of the GC 36 as it has only just been recently released and i don't think anyone has bought one yet or if they have, no reviews have been posted.

i've seen the carrera day/date in person. good solid rep and good AR. personally i would choose it over the GC 36.

Mishka, your title is very confusing. When you say 2008 Carrera what do you mean by that? Are you referring to particular model? Like the one you want to compare with Cal 36. Are you trying to compare Calibre 17 vs. Calibre 36?

why do you say that? is the day date a lot different to the gen?

btw Is it called the day date? or just carrera 2008? the 43mm that Bytor reviewed? Please correct me if I'm wrong

I agree with Fakey. IMO, the Calibre 36 looks too complicated for my liking. Also it is a rarer watch which will draw more curiousity.

I tried on the gen calibre 36. I agree it is complicated looking, but I like it. It looked great on, but I think it would attract too much attention...the wrong kind lol

I didn't try the day date on but it was like 3,000 gbp cheaper than the calibre 36. The calibre 36 was listed at 5785 gbp!


So, day date? SLR? Or maybe one of the new aqua racers? Too many choices

I love the grand carrera, but too bad the finish on the buckle sucks. Overall I would prefer the Carrera DayDate as it suits my daily dress code better.

Why do you say the buckle sucks? I'm expert so I can't really tell...
And is the buckle on the day date any better?

One last thing...nice loking white face day date you got...was it the firsrt batch?

Mishka, post pic for the one you are going for and that way you'll get the opinion on any other things to keep in mind beside the working chrono. I have see some horrible rep for cal 16 and would not recommend those to anyone.
