All,

I'm a noob and got a GC 36 from here around 4 months ago, it was working fine up until a week ago, it's randomly stopping and isn't holding any reserve - since I am a noob and don't have much of a clue, I wouldn't want to open this fantastic watch and mess with it's heart, its an asian 7750 and been serviced according to the seller:

This is the watch:

Would anyone know from my vague description what could be wrong/how to fix it or will I need to send this away? If the latter, I'm in the UK.

Thanks for your time!

Tam

You'll need to contact 14060 from the trusted watch smith section. You might also try Katt.
The A7750 movement is always a crap-shoot ... or a time-bomb depending on who you ask.
Your movement is in need of a serious overhaul. Hack it and leave it alone until you can get it serviced.

Welcome to the CLUB !!!
Mine was returned to Chine two times and finally remain there. I changed for a Cal 16

You are the ... nth... Cal 36 owner with problems.
This is a watch with a lot of working problems.
Read about in this forum.
You need the services of a watchsmith to repair it.
Since you are in UK, consult Wiz in France.

You are right
Don't buy it.
Leaving aside my experience, I have had several PMs concerning this issue from RWI members looking for a solution.

You need to get the movement serviced for this watch. Its very finicky. Mine has worked flawlessly ever since the day I received it so yea..

I guess if you like the look of this watch enough, its worth getting it serviced.

To the OP, are you sure the seller had it properly serviced? This watch has an extra modification to replicate the look of a gen cal 36 and improper service can damage it. As I said, its a very finicky watch. Its best if you have a trusted watch smith from the forum service this watch. Ive chatted at great lengths with G, Victor and Vac before purchasing this watch and they all said that there is nothing problematic about the movement if properly serviced. Its not like the sec @ 6 and sec @ 12 modification.

I had another cal 36 which was improperly serviced by a horrible local watch smith and lo and behold, the movement died within a couple of months (I actually doubted whether the watch was serviced at all). Then I sent the same watch to G and it is still working like a truck up to this day. So I gave that watch to my brother and he loved it ever since.
