If you look at this forum I started a thread yesterday about fiddy's and exploding glass,
I think you should find your answers there

all sapphire is synthetic sapphire in the real world.... but...

in the rep world, synth sapphire typicall means mineral glass and sapphire means synth sapphire...

the problem with exploding crystals is tied to curved or domed mineral glass... the mineral glass can not withstand the pressure at the curve of the glass under pressure (it is pressed into place at the bezel)...

hope this helps...

Perfect explanation... coming from the light side, I knew that sapphire is synthetic... but thought that in the rep world, there were alternate meanings.. Thanks for clearing this up.

I remember a member also posted that their glass melted while inside the glove box of a car.

Synthetic Sapphire really is mineral glass. Is it prone to exploding or cracking? i would say its more prone than sapphire but not inclined to do it. You really see the difference in its scratch resistance.

Speaking of scratch resistance. Is there a way to buff scratches out of mineral glass?

For me its all confusing, why not call a goat a goat :D

° Mineral crystal...not scratchfree
° Sapphyre crystal.. the better quality
Avoid names likes synthetic crystal which could be anything except what you expected!
It could be all so easy, especially foor the noobs like me.

Why can't a sapphire crystal fit a mini fiddy....

That doesn't make sense that no one makes one.
