SYLVESTER STALLONE’S PANERAI LUMINOR 5218-201A SELLS FOR $214,200 AT PHILLIPS
The Luminor worn by Stallone in 1996’s Daylight was estimated to sell for between $40,000 and $80.000.
After more then 4 minutes and 18 bids the watch was sold at the final price of $214.200
The Panerai 5218-201/a has been offered exactly as it was first worn by Mr. Stallone, along with its original mahogany box, two additional Panerai straps with sewn-in buckles, and its original brass screwdriver. It is further accompanied by a letter personally handwritten and signed by Mr. Stallone on his private stationary describing the watch, along with an original 1996 studio-issued lobby card from the “Daylight” film, also signed by Sly, with specific reference by him to this exact watch.
"I did a film called Daylight, and I wanted to wear a watch that no one had ever seen. I strapped this on my wrist that day and didn’t take it off until the end of filming... This watch is a star. "
