I bought this recently from another member and the TD who sold it to him listed this watch as an ETA.

I figured for the price I paid, it would probably be a clone. If it is a clone, I'm not surprised and not mad or po'ed with the guy I got it from. I'd actually be surprised if it was a real ETA!

So, I cracked it open today and took some pics (sorry, only had my cell phone for pics with me). I'm simply curious as to what I have... It runs great!

It says it's a 2834-2 ETA in there. Here are the pics if some of you could please take a peek and comment.

This one is hard to see from the pics if the wheels are shiny, I've seen in other posts that if they are dull, they tend to be real. In this watch, the silver wheel is dull and the brass one is kinda shiny.

I'll say 99.9% Swiss, but definitely not a new one. And looking at the regulator, probably in need of servicing.

Among other reasons, I doubt that anyone has made a 2834-2 clone. That was originally made for Day Date type watches where the day was at the 12 o'clock position. It's easy to remove and turn it into a 2836-2. I have a couple similar.

Thanks for your opinion KBH! I was wondering if there were any clone 2834 movements and didn't find anything. I was thinking it was a real one as well. The watch was a better deal than I thought.
