Swiss ETA-2824 or not?

Hello,

I've ordered a watch that was listed with Swiss ETA-2824. The power reserve wasn't all that great, so I've decided to open up the case. Much to my surprise there was ETA 2836-2 stamp. Now I'm wondering if this movement is anything "SWISS" or an asian clone? What do you think?

My impression is it's a very old ETA and probably desperately needs servicing.

It looks swiss to me. The engraving looks smooth and deep, and the cog wheels are of a brushed finish. Usually if it's a clone the cogs will be a polished finish. Just a couple of tells on the older asian clones. Not sure about the newer clones.

A good servicing will give that power reserve more life ... Definately worth your consideration ...

Thank you! It feels better knowing that at least it's a swiss movement.
