Just rec'd two sweet straps for my Power Reserve and Radiomir 45mm from Don in Toronto. One is 24/24 and the other is 26/24. Both are vintage brown with polished buckles. Very reasonable pricing and nice quality.

I paid significantly more for one from Dirk in Belgium for my gen 164. While the quality may be better, I don't think it's worth twice the price. My opinion....not to bust on Dirk, he's a good cat.

Like they say on eBay: Highly Recommended Seller! A++++

I'd also like to see pics of Don's (and Dirk's straps - I'm seriously thinking about a Dirk for the Davidsen PVD).

For those of you lucky enough to get one of those Davidsen PVD PAMs, you should check out the historic straps DON has with the sewn in PVD buckles. They look really nice and are a great value - as all of Don's straps are.

And since most people will wear a normal sized strap you shouldn't have any problems. Don does have a number of long and now XL straps that work well for me, but only the normal lengths are available with the PVD buckles - the longer sizes are only available with the brushed or polished buckles.

don't tell dirk you have a rep. dirk has no sense of humor with reps owners.

Virtually all aftermarket straps with sewn-in buckle are copies of the OEM PAV straps. There really isn't an issue of who is copying who here.

With hopes of redeeming myself on this board, here are some photos of Don vs. Dirk in Strap Wars I.

Don's 26/24 in brown w/white stitching:

Don's 24/24 in vintage brown w/white stitching:

Dirk's 24/24 in cognac w/gold stitching:

Here are the major differences from my point of view:
- Dirk's has one free floating strap loop, the buckle is brushed with Panerai engraving and the OP symbol, and the leather is very water resistant (no problem with diving, it dries out in a matter of hours). After a year of wear, there is noticable stretching, like a great leather belt.

- Don's leather is slightly thinner (but he let's you know about it and will provide a discount based on the thickness), there is one sewn in loop and one free-floating loop, the buckle is polished with no Panerai markings (though you can order it brushed), and it's half the price of Dirk's.

Summary: Dirk=Higher Quality, Don=Value with Good Quality
