Swap GEN 682 submersible steel bezel with REP ceramic bezel?

Hi, first post!

Does anyone know if GEN & REP dive bezels are interchangeable? Thinking of getting a donor 683 or one of those Luna Rossa ones ie: 1579.

I've never owned a rep before, have a gen 682 and really like the exhibition caseback & movement but also like the newer ceramic bezels.

Honestly not much information with Panerai Submersible bezel swap/frankens floating around on the forum, these things are always tricky, you need to measure the inner and outer diameter.

My suggestion is just to buy a rep Panerai and have fun wearing it, then you can disassemble the bezel, measure it, and evaluate it if it would fit.

If you do get one VSF is probably your best bet if you want to match.

Ive done a couple of PAM bezel swaps, steel is not compatible with ceramic and vice versa they are made differently. Last swap I did was a gen 508 bezel which was basically a like for like swap in terms of construction, the difference by the way is night and day on that particular model.

No, I said the swapping of the gen 508 bezel for the rep 508 bezel was like for like. I will also note that I tried to swap a gen 243 bezel for rep 243 bezel and it was not possible without some machining on the rep model

I did a comparison post on here about it, basically the pips are completely different, the paint infill on the numbers and minute markers are completely different, the gen is a glistening gold whereas the rep is way off, I’ll see if I can find the post on here and share the link
