Jiro I have the Asian version blue dial and it held up when diving. Bezel is a bit off but correctable. Lume is weak but arent most reps out of the box. Movement has been solid for me. Ive exposed it to salt water, pool and sand at beaches. It needed a cleaning afterwards but help up well.

I was going to sell mine but I might just keep it. I got mine from Angus, not sure if its the same version that they are selling. I would think it would be.

I think the Asian versions do not have the nice AR, plus they are mineral not sapphire. Dials should be the same as the Swiss.

I doubt it's a totally differently manufactured watch. Maybe just slightly to accommodate a different movmt. Only one factory makes these new super Breits.

I feel the Swiss with the real sapphire and AMAZING AR is the way to go. Do not underestimate true AR coating, especially on a watch this well done that has lots of dial details like the engraved circles. If you saw them side to side, you would wish you had AR.

I'm about to get a Swiss version Steelfish, just not sure from where yet!

I have held mine next to Gen the AR is not that distinguishable. In fact I could not tell the difference and neither could he. He paid 2500 for his and I paid 200 for mine. He was pissed. It was a guy I know though.

Jiro, I was not afraid as it was rated to withstand 1000ft and I told Angus it would be tested at 200ft. I spend about 35 mins at 180- 190 ft and it had no problems.

Hi,
just ordered mine from Andrew yesterday... One thing which I found most "disputable" is that for the Asian Version, same pics as for the ETA version are used (if I'm wrong, let me know, I will apologize to Andrew then...)
I took it in white, as I feel this is the color that best supports having no AR.
I'll come back with some shots upon receipt. It's true I did not find any review on the Asian version, which made me a bit anxious. But it's half the price, so I'm ready for some weak points. If the case is as good as for the ETA version, then I think it's a real bargain.

I remember having a conversation with Trusty on this one and he said the case was different, as well as it being mineral glass with no AR.

The thing that's strange is that you have exactly the same pics on TT and PC websites for the Asian and the Swiss ETA version... If the case would be different, well, why not using other pics ?
No, I don't think the case is different. I'm wondering if it would be cost effective to make two different cases...
It would be good to know which difference TT spotted...
As for the mineral glass, well I posted pics on RWG where I mentionned than neither the water drop test nor the glance at 45 degrees would obviously prove it's not sapphire.

Here posted again :

First is my TAG SLR. Advertized by some dealers as mineral, and by others (TT and PC) as synthetic sapphire. The drop stays, but it looks opaque looked at a certain angle.

Then the Breitling. Drop stays, no yellowish or dirt effect. On a 90 degrees angle I have a loupe (magnifying glass) effect, so I can't really see the dial anymore, but it does not look yellowish/dirty at all. Maybe that's due to the 5 mm crystal thickness.

So, is it sapphire ?

Looks really nice! But why are the crown guards angled toward the back of the watch? I.e. When viewed from side with the crown, why is the top part (near the crystal) thicker than the bottom part (near the caseback)?
