The thing that's strange is that you have exactly the same pics on TT and PC websites for the Asian and the Swiss ETA version... If the case would be different, well, why not using other pics ?
No, I don't think the case is different. I'm wondering if it would be cost effective to make two different cases...
It would be good to know which difference TT spotted...
As for the mineral glass, well I posted pics on RWG where I mentionned than neither the water drop test nor the glance at 45 degrees would obviously prove it's not sapphire.

First is my TAG SLR. Advertized by some dealers as mineral, and by others (TT and PC) as synthetic sapphire. The drop stays, but it looks opaque looked at a certain angle.
Then the Breitling. Drop stays, no yellowish or dirt effect. On a 90 degrees angle I have a loupe (magnifying glass) effect, so I can't really see the dial anymore, but it does not look yellowish/dirty at all. Maybe that's due to the 5 mm crystal thickness.
So, is it sapphire ?
