Ah well, my loss is certainly your gain with this absolute beauty! Purchased last week and looks even more insane in the flesh, that deep navy tint of the bezel insert just elevates the look and gives it the true neo-vintage look of an '88 build Submariner.
Details from the previous listing:
The build started with a startime submariner case, which I had laser-welded to add material to the notoriously stubby crown guards. @tripdog the reworked these, the lugs, and the rehaut to give a very gen-spec case shape.
The case was then sent to Phong to be engraved woth serial and model number. It’s got an R-serial, dating it to late 1988, the very first year of the 16610 model.
To align with the serial the watch has a Swiss - T < 25 Tritium dial and matching hands. The dial is slightly matte and shows some wear. As this is supposed to period-correct to the first run of the 16610 it also comes with a genuine open 6/9 date disc, which are pretty rare.
The watch also comes with a gen crystal, gen crown & tube, gen bezel assembly and an amazing gen Tritium bezel insert that’s turning a deep navy colour.
The watch was put together by @Solution6. The VR3135 date change is a little bit sticky at 17/18/19, and colluded potentially benefit from a service. I’ve accounted for this in the asking price, but otherwise the movement is running great. Additional comment from the current owner: I've never experienced any issues with the movement or date change.

I would like to get back what I paid, this is firm, I am not in a rush to sell and I certainly wouldn't mind keeping this. For the money, this is a crazy deal re the amount of genuine components.
