Having spent a not inconsiderable sum on a new rep Rolex 126610LN from JohnnyDepp, complete with some tasty mods, I had mixed feelings when it landed here in the UK from Italy. Aesthetically it was fantastic - all I ever would want in a luxury watch both in look and feel - but I soon discovered it gained 30 seconds a day. I guess it had been knocked or something in transit. JohnnyDepp didn't know of a UK-based watchsmith who could regulate it, so I DM'd a high profile RWI member I had seen mentioned several times on the forum, but he didn't want to touch it and was disappointingly dismissive.
I took it instead to a local watchsmith who told me 30 secs a day was within tolerance and I should learn to live with it. So I did, for a month or so, re-setting every day to keep it more or less or track. Until I saw @Solution6 mentioned, favourably, in a sales post.
I made a tentative enquiry - expecting, if I'm honest, another knockback - only to receive a very prompt reply and an observation that it was not unrealistic to expect better than that.
I posted RMSD on a Friday and received a message later on Sunday to say it had been regulated, de-magnetised, cleaned, had the gasket re-greased and had had a vacuum test. The watch had been running up to 60 secs a day fast but was now fixed and would be in the next day's post. The speed of service itself was amazing.
The watch arrived at lunchtime on the Tuesday, when I set it to the correct time. At 7:30am the next day, it had lost about 15 seconds. I re-set it, wound it, and from then until about 9am six full days later - it had gained just one single second! ONE SECOND!
I have never seen anything like it. The fee was affordable, service exceptional and I am a very satisfied customer (but you might have guessed that by now...)
Very happy to recommend.
