Super lume?

my DSN Pam arrived and I'm really confused about the super lume. Dont want to scream yet, so will ask you first. Then i put pam under 50watt halogen for few minutes it hands and dial really lumes, but in matter of seconds it starts fading in few minutes its gone.... Well is it supposed to be like that? It seems useless to me....

If you want to properly charge your lume, forget lamps and just wear the watch and normal daylight will do the job.

DSN lume is probably the best rep lume out of the box, but no matter how strong the lume is, it's still a watch, not a flashlight

Hi, yes i understand that it not flashlight, but after few minutes I barely read the time in complete darkness that's what i'm saying...

D) To see any lume after an hour or so, the room must be very dark and your eyes must be adjusted which will not happen in a few minutes.

Is DSN's lume better, across the board, than "normal" rep lume levels? Yes. Is it as good as gen Panerai? No. Is it as good as having goin or vaccum relume a dial for you? No.

A. ...under UV light. Halogen lamps tend to have UV filters on them, but should charge any phosphor just fine.
B. My powder glows like crazy after exposure to fluorescent bulbs, maybe yours are filtered?
D. He cannot see it in total darkness. I can see my lume for up to 72 hours in total darkness (not REP lume, of course .
E. If I bought a gen that could not bee seen in total darkness after a few minutes, I'd be pi$$ed, whether it was a Timex or a Rolex...

My bet is that it's just typical rep lume.
If it's supposed to have been relumed, the step may have been skipped.

UV lamps or too strong hallogen lamps are the best way to damage lume pigments.

DSN's lume is way better than the standard rep lume, but it's nothing compared to the work of a relumer or a gen watch.

I have recently started reluming pams. I have some of the best lume around for this (Watchlume G-max) which glows like crazy but it still fade pretty quickly. That initial brigtness only last less than a minute no matter what lume is on your watch. UV bombardment like that lamp exposure with prematurely "kill" your lume just so you know.

Yes, a DSN watch should remain bright enough to be readable throughout the night. However, the initial intensity will fade rather quickly.

Depends on what you get as well with sandwich dials you can add a lot more lume, so it will be brighter than sausage dials.

any H series pam will most likely be a sandwich dial, afaik.. as for as mods goes..its entirely individual preference on what flaw u can live with&what u cant..

just a list of mods, if u'r considering a full mod but not franken status:-

1. CG - either a Toro or LH & i think wholesale outlet's CG isnt too bad either-
2. Crown - T's & e Palp crown are e best, i think but hard to source, OEM is e next option..
3. AR - either remove e AR coating on e rep crystal or go to either finedd or taka for an aftermarket crystal depending on where u r.
4. Lume - again afew modders to chose frm depending on ur location.. goin, ziggy, vac, etc etc.. as for combination & mixture of which lume to be as per gen both in day&night conditions, idk..
5. Dial - DSN's 111H&112H dials are pretty accurate, i think.. but there's LH or even OEM if u'r able to source for them..
6. Movement - depending on how the text looks like on e movement.. u can either go e francisco direction or LH for a fully serviced, engraved movement.. not too sure who or where else u can source a engraved movement..
7. Case - its smth not everyone will consider as e rep cases are pretty good. but if u really wana be nitpicky, then sourcing a OEM is e best option i guess..
8. Strap - a must have but not exactly a mod, imho.. great variety, choices, makers, styles, etc etc to chose frm..
