Super Clones?

Is there any truth to something being a “super clone”? I’ve been looking around and I’ve seen that term a lot. If I want a super clone, how would I advise a dealer of that?

I recently paid about $600 for a submariner. I’m assuming this falls in the mid grade category.

A $600 sub is among the best you can get imo, especially if you’ve purchased it from one of the TDs here and actually received a watch from Clean or VSF. If you’re looking for something significantly better than this, you’ll need to consider watches that are modded or frankens.

You should really take some time to familiarize yourself with how this works. There’s a lot of dishonest marketing of reps out there, don’t fall for it.

Head to the Rolex section, there's a sticky made by @dogwood about the most common movements made for Rolex reps. He gives his own classification of "clones" you can use as reference.

If you ask me about that USD600+ Submariner that you have bought, if its from a TD inside here, likely its a high end or a super clone that you mentioned.

Mid End stuff costs at most USD250-450 range at best.

Maybe you can show us some wrist shots here and we can be the judge.

Have a nice time.

If there is anything we can help you with any queries, please feel free to EMAIL at: [email protected] or PM us here.

I have been one of the longest standing Trusted Dealer since 2002 - Trusty Time and I am Andrew here.

The factory is far more indicative than the cost mate. There are a couple of Daytona reps that are priced in 60% of Clean for example that can go punch for lunch with them.

And even then it depends on factors like who’s assembling the watch etc etc. I’ve had a Royal Oak Offshore from APSF show up with the rotor detached from the back and the thing couldn’t pass a 10m pressure test much less 50. Yet I bought an RXF that must be 4(?) years old 116610LN and put an SW-200 in it and the watch still without mods tested to like 10 bar.

Sorry for being slow, I am currently eyeing out Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra (VSF) and Tudor Heritage Black Bay (ZF) on necoclock, which is $200 cheaper than JTime or Trustytime (same factories).
The concern I have is that JTime has a "super clone" in the product title for the Omega, so is it just a bullshit marketing term?

Ding ding. But here’s the kicker, if it ain’t a TD you may find you’re going to lose more than the “discount”. I wouldn’t even risk it mate. Plus if it’s $200 cheaper on those reps it’s more than like a shitter with a 2813 movement, horrible accuracy, and/or totally a scam. I know Necotime is over on Reddit a lot. But still…if something goes wrong no one here can help if it’s not a TD.
