So one Daytona I really like is the 116506, the issue is the sub-dials are still wrong with its sunburst - where it should be individual rather than from the main section of the dial.

I have zero knowledge on metal, I am wondering do you think is possible to send it to a jeweler to put the sunburst on?

OR

I have also made contact with someone on eBay who can customise dials, but I had got quoted $500 for a single dial. Maybe we can do a group buy so we all benefit with some savings.

What do you guys think?

Do it. Gen is always gen and there's other let downs of the noob dial compared to gen.

The only reason I did not buy one is, that the ENDLINKS are such a big flaw that u have an instant tell on the watch. Even if u have a GEN dial. Another problem is the Bezel...

The bezel serif font has now been corrected, minus the platinum plating - which I found better with by V3 vs my CF bezel.

The gen dial I think is 4K

100% agree with the wrong SEL, one thing maybe we can do is source a piece of end link which is much bigger and mill it to the dimensions we need OR perhaps use micro welding to fill the extra metal required and then re-drill the end link.

I have sent a photo of the gen dial to the maker and full disclosure, this is the maker (https://www.ebay.com/itm/313210833277).

I think the indices are not amazing, but maybe we need to use the noob's one

I do own the V3, did you get your bezel platiniumed? I would love to see that!

I did speak to a couple watchmakers in this forum, no one was able to offer me a fix for the SEL flaw...

Did you receive a couple of pictures of the aftermarked Dial? From the picture on ebay its hard to tell how good it really is...

I established there is ant least two version of the V3 bezel, as I own two where one has a much more darker coloured bezel from the start and one which looks pretty good even now and it has been around 5 months old (so the fading reason doesn't really apply here)

I didn't ask for more detail photos from the dial maker. But looking on his/her ebay account it seems we have some options.

I had further conversation with the dial maker, he trying to sense how much we will pay and I quote around $350 to $400 IF the quality is very good - I have pre warned him we can be picky.

He had asked me for a deposit/money BEFORE anything is getting made, of which I had suggested the dial we are suggesting to make is not "custom" but merely a better version of what he's already selling (as shown above). Asking me or anyone for money without seeing any samples is a risk I am not willing to take for myself or members here. I have suggested we work together to make a "better dial" so is a win win for everyone. With the $400 peak price mark, he had expressed we can make a "very good dial" in his opinion.

Therefore he had asked me to send some good photos and descriptions so he can emphasis to his maker what to look out for. Since we are in a fourm setting, I would love to hear your thoughts and I will collate a list to share it with him. I will post some of my thoughts later on this thread to kick start the discussion.

If I wanted one, I would defo pay that, if it were right.

Looking forward to see how this turns out.

The supplier replied and said he never had a Daytona dial done by his dial maker. Going from that I guess we will start with what have we got in the market at the moment.

Noob
1) Don't have individual sunburst
2) Dial print is poorer than ARF
3) subdial size is better than ARF but is still not wide enough. 2 and 10 o'clock indices should be almost touching the subdials
4) correct sunburst on the main part of the dial coming from the center
5) the "silver" rims on the subdials are thinner than gen, gen are more pronounced and seems to be a bit wider and sticks out more.

ARF
1) have individual sunburst
2) subdials are width are too thin, worst than Noob.
3) Printing is better, especially the DAYTONA print
4) correct sunburst on the main part of the dial coming from the center

Below are 4 photos, Noob, ARF and 2 gens.
