Suggestion for best movement in a 15000

....obviously besides a gen 3135!

I'm wrapping up a franken 15000 build using a gen case, dial, bezel, crystal, crown, and a rep bracelet with gen clasp. All that's left is a movement and hands!

I'm looking for some guidance from any members that may have experience with a build like this, what are some good movements to use? I know Yuki has a 3135 that will take gen dials, but are there any other options?

Thanks in advance for any insights!!

The 15000 Date and the 16000 Datejust both originally took the 3035 Rolex movement. I put a 2836-2 in both my 16013 and 16014 builds and they're doing fine.
So I would think the 2836-2 would work for you in the 15000 Date case and then some Clark DJ hands for eta would finish you up.
A #2 movement ring from rafflestime would keep the movement in place.

Thanks so much for the suggestion!! I'm going to reach out to Ken and see if he has anything in stock that might work. I have an older 2892 laying around, I wonder if that won't work?

Of the three movements, 2892, 2824 and 2836, the 2892 is the thinnest (and most advanced). Without a custom spacer, I doubt it would work.
You can always get an Asian 2836-2 for around $100 or a swiss for $200. You could pick up an older 2836 in a donor watch on ebay, but then you'd probably need to figure a servicing.

I used a 2836-2 for my 16014 build and I used a raffles movement holder and a dial spacer from eBay without any issues

Hoping to resuscitate this old thread... i've found a 15000 case and would like to fit a movement, gen dial hands and DW into it. Would it be possible to use a 3135 or is the 2836 the move, given the 34mm size? Thank you.

The 34mm size isn't the issue. It's the stem position that is important. The 3135 closely approximates the 2824-2. The 3035 movement approximates the 2836-2 relative to the stem position. Also, it's easier to fit a DWO to a 2836 movement than a 2824-2.

Thanks. Ideally I would rather not cut off dial feet so looks like the best option is to dremel a vs3135 movement to better fit the case.
