As PAM's have been growing on me, I'm in the market to pop my Panerai cherry. My only problem is, that I have a wrist like a 11-year old girl (well, not that bad really), but my 43mm Timewalker pushes the limit here. Anything bigger and it looks like I work at the circus. So as much as I like Panerai, a normal sized pannie would look like crap. Here's my list of DEMANDS 8) :

- Black or dark brown dial
- It would be cool to have the legendary letters "MARINA MILITARE" on it
- No complications, the second hand at 9 is something I still can live with, but no tachymeter bezels, chronos etc.

Can anyone of the connoisseur team here suggest me a (few) model number(s) that are reduced size and fit the description?

187 big-ass tuna-can. Once you've worn that, any other Panerai will look small and wearable. :D

I wear a 187 and a 1950 and my wrist is 6.75" (17cm).

ps. Get a 44mm 111h. Yes, it's big, but it's supposed to be.

6.75" wrist here too. 44mm is not a problem....a thick strap helps. I always wear my watches loose on the wrist tho.

PAM210

The base dial is a gleaming example of the elegance of simplicity. The 45mm Radiomir cases wear smaller than ANY other Panerai (except for the 42mm Radiomirs  ).

Dress it up or down, it plays both roles wonderfully.

This may very well be my first gen Panerai purchase.

See Aquaracer's wonderful comparo here:

Hi Marin :)
I have somehow the same problem as you have.
I bought a PAM112 from Silix, and it's only 42-43 mm diameter. Here's a wristshot.

My wrist diameter is 17cm.

And here some more shots.

If you feel like buying it, I'll PM you the link. I asked Silix if the 42mm were correct, been told by some members that it was likely to be a mistake, and in fact if it's not exactly 42mm, it's not the usual 44 mm.
The other solution is to buy the 40 mm PAMs, but I would not advise. It tried one and found it too small...for a PAM

In fact, the dial itself is smaller than on the Montblanc, so I don't think it will look oversized. Also, a large dressy watch (like the MB) might be more problematic than a large sporty/casual watch (like the PAM).
And finally, I learnt to like big watches, before 40 mm seemed the maximum for me, now I turned the maximum into 44. And my 38mm ones look very tiny

[Edit] Is 17cm a standard size on RWI.. I mean the wrist...

I would agree with Hooligan; Radiomirs wear smaller even though the dials are bigger, as do any PAMs with a base black dial, my 201a seems quite dainty. PVD seems to make PAMs looks smaller too; or just more stealthy. So my 47mm PVD MM20 looks smaller than my steel one, to me at least. In any case big watches are pretty normal these days, so just rock any one you like. My wrist is 6.75 too.

Go for the 44mm PAMs! My girlfriend wears a PAM036 with a short strap from Don. She loves it and it looks great!

I have 6.5" wrists and I wear 44mm PAMs, XL POs and Fiddy's without hesitation! :D

Wow... I do like the look of the triple 1 and the 183 there Pug. And thanks for the photo library, by the way, I expected nothing less from the Photo King himself.

And to Pix, the 112 looks very good as well.

Thanks guys! :D

44mm Titanium looks good on just about anyone.

My wrist is the same size as yours and the proportion is just right.

177H with a dark strap (don't use the OEM, it looks fairly cheap and it's color makes the watch look even bigger)
