LOL. Good way to put it, I guess. I just had read many posts about people checking their QC pics and wanted to be ready for mine. The trusted dealers wouldn’t be trusted long if they burned members. One doesn’t typically take a giant crap in the well he drinks from. Just saying
QA pictures are for you to look and and verify it's what you ordered and nothing looks amiss vs known flaws. Do your research before ordering. If there's a specific concern which you are unsure about you can post that question with relevant pictures.LOL. Good way to put it, I guess. That is a DHgate shitter, unknown factory and movement.
I'd think before you committed to ordering a specific rep, you'd do as much homework as you could, to see what the common problems are with that specific model...some are known for inconsistent rehaut alignment, some for big SEL gaps, etc. Some specific models or movements are prone to idiosyncracies, like a jumping second hand on a Miyota movement. Some of these flaws are just things you're going to have to live with, unless you go with a different model (with its own flaws) or a gen.
Once you get your QC pics, compare them to the ones in the threads you've already studied. Look for the common issues specific to that rep, then look for obvious generic issues, like chrono hands not resetting, date wheel alignment, etc. Constantly remind yourself that you're looking at a HD photo/video...of a replica...of a 1-2" watch...blown up to 12"+ on your computer monitor.
I have more than a few gens that wouldn't stand up to this level of scrutiny, especially after they've been worn a few times.
Also, factor in the rep itself and the price...you're not likely to get the same level of perfection in a Cartel Sub, a BP Sub, and a VSF Sub, so manage expectations accordingly.
I cringe when I hear of people giving the RL to 5 or 10 different watches during the QC phase. If you're on verge of rejecting the 3rd watch you're shown, the problem is less likely the watch, and more likely you, or the dealer.
And with Uranus, which is much more importantIf you message @Feefo he has a special "QC Tool" he can share with you. It aligns the dial with the solar system.
That is why I was seeking a guide for the submariner. I know I saw one for Daytona. Figured it would help me learn and fiber known issues.QA pictures are for you to look and and verify it's what you ordered and nothing looks amiss vs known flaws. Do your research before ordering. I'll give you a hint....look at VSF 126610LN.....That is why I was seeking a guide for the submariner. I know I saw one for Daytona. Figured it would help me learn and fiber known issues.
Looking forward to this process. Thanks for all the feedback.
The biggest thing is set the date and time and make sure they work. If it passes that test then go booger hunting. An actually helpful reply:

100%. It's actually not that hard yet it seems that people turn this into quite the event in their lives.Usually this is the advice I will give.
1. Check the QC pics that the watch is the correct Factory edition that you purchased.
2. Look at the QC pics to see if there is any certain noticeable defects
3. Check the Timographer reading is within specs and if there are any areas of concern, do bring it up to your TD and he should be able to iron out the issues for you.
Have a nice day. Cheers!
