Hi Guys,

Sorry for the stupid newbie question but I just received my first pam rep, it's a 217 with an asian unitas 6497 movement H series that I bought from a fellow member on TRC but Im not sure how to wind it since it's my first rep and the only gen pam I've ever owned is the 104 which is an automatic movement.

Is it upwards or downwards?
How many turns?
How long will the PR last, or how often do I have to wind it?

It makes a clicking noise either way but if I wind it upwards it just keeps going and if I do it downwards I can feel some resistance but the crown seems to go back when I let it go, so im not really sure.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Watchace,
Be careful, sounds like the something may not be aligned correctly. Try pushing the crown in and pul back out. I sometime use the lock lever to precisly push the crown in so it "grabs" the correct gear.

Winding is to the right.
About 30-40 hrs reserve depending.

Thanks ferrariman.

It actually started working after I turned it both ways for about 20 turns each way but I will make sure i pull it out correctly and push it back also with the lever.

btw- to the right? I figure that is downwards facing the watch from the front right? how many turns? or just untill I feel it wont go any more?

Thanks again, the watch is really nice, it's a shame the strap is stiffer than a stick of old jerky meat, o well time to excersice the paypal trigger finger again on some nice straps to complement this baby.

Cheers

If you see the gears turn while you're winding; that means you're winding in the right direction.

Come on, it is not rocket sience! :)

Turn the watch so the CG faces to your right (watch is inverted)

wind the SOB upwards (tumb goes up index goes down) . You will hear cli-clik-clik...

go until you can't go any more. That will last you about 3 days on the CN movements.

Enjoy your watch!
