not getting dark is getting daylight we pass Villanova coming to the repair station which happens to be across from a Ferrari dealership the owner of the shop is telling me is probably going to cost more than the van is worth to fix it

That's possible if a shop is doing it but it's really not a bad job. Axles are readily available and not complicated.
