I have a question guys....

I have several very nice buckles for Pams...but the threads are stripped. Is there any way to fix this problem? Or do we just throw them away?

Any advise?

Dont throw them away! You could locktight them on if they are not badly stripped. I also have some heavy duty adhesive if they are badly stripped but if you put them on a strap they will be perminant.

Actually, I was thinking about that. But, wouldn't that mean that I wouldn't be able to change them again? From the straps...I mean.

I have some good locktight that should hold and will allow you to unscrew it if need be. I would not go this route if you plan on changing your strap frequently.

Is this the one one with the red label? I have a bottle of that because I read that we should use this for the screws on the CG screws for Pams.

I can try that!

Don't worry about the loctite. Just use the blue and not the red. It will hold up to day to day use and still be removable with a touch of effort.

I always put a tiny touch of blue loctite on all m screws that are on the crownguards and the lugsscrews.

When you put loctite on, how do you remove the screws w/out stripping the screw
head?

Panatime sells thick Panerai spring bars that look like a screw. Check it out they are worth every penny.

There is some disagreement about this product (it holds but doesn't lock, if that makes sense.) So it may be worth a try for things like bracelet screws:

The trick is to use the correct size screw driver so you can apply an even torque to the screw head and not strip it. The screwdriver should also be wide enough but also sharp enough to fit well.

I have a nice set of French screwdrivers that I purchased from ofrei for about $35 or so. Their Swiss counterparts are $100+ per set of 4-5 and the chinese ones.... well I've had 2 sets of the chinese ones and they suck balls.

i hope that helps.

Thanks for the advice! Yes, I did start off with the cheap chinese ones...but have since up graded.

I'll make sure to use the right ones....sometimes I get lazy!
