Straps recommendations for Cartier Santos 100 XL Chronograph?

Hey guys,

I have a Cartier Santos 100 XL Chronograph Ultimate Edition.
Wow. What a mouthful.

Anyway, the rep strap on it is absolutely shit. I'm looking to buy a replacement strap, does anyone have any suggestions? I've found some on eBay for USD 60 or so, but I'm unsure of the quality. The regular guy I buy from in Vietnam doesn't make the 24mm strap for my version.

Most Cartier Santos 100 straps sold online are for the 23mm, non-Chronograph version.

Mine seems to be either 24mm or 24.5mm in width.

Any suggestions? I'd be hesitant to drop more than USD100 on this, right now at least.

I'd upgrade to a gen strap, but only if I am 100% sure I will be keeping this rep permanently.

On ebay I bought from a Vietnam strap maker custom made. He is also a member here. But if you contact any of the trusted strap dealers you will have what you need.

I would be very keen to hear some answers to this! I’m so prepared to take the plunge and get the Santos 100...
How bad exactly is the strap? And in what way? Is it a dead giveaway visibly or just feels different?

Also which TD did you get from?

@ziczacleather has ebay account and can make custom crocodile for Santos, I think most of our Straps TD could make it if they have the insert needed. It's not a regular strap, the maker needs to have an insert to give the shape and thickness at the lungs. The strap is a must change if you want to buy this reps.

I’m not sure I can see the plastic insert you’re talking about? I just see the strap and the pin hole

What do you mean is that right? You’re the one who saw it on eBay so you tell if that’s true or not...

There’s no way a gen is selling for 750 if that’s what you’re saying
