Hi I wonder if anyone could fill me in on the differences between Officine Firenze and the main Mario Paci lines.

Is it just a different fussily logoed buckle and unlimted editions for the OF straps?

I also tried to redeem the RWI_33_Special at mariopaci.com earlier and it was telling me that no items in my cart qualified. This was true no matter what I put in it. Is this coupon dead?

Finally if anyone has any good strap combos for a revised davidsen 201a (replacement for my cancelled fiddy order) I would love to hear them. At the moment i'm tempted by a MP1 (cracked brown) but I like the OF Lorenzo in tan and maybe the black or mocha. http://mariopaci.com/Merchant2/merchant ... _Code=OFMP
Which with the coupon would be the same price as the MP1 for the pair.

So thanks in advance
D

I don't know anything about the coupon. But if you are lookig for straps why only go with TC? Why not try some of the other makers?

The Lorenzo was originally designed in '93 (same year as the 201A, IIRC), so that's a natural match.

The coupon should work with all the straps, except anything that is a Daily Special, I believe. If it's not working you might want to email Elliot or Mara and ask (nicely) if it should be working. I know he's had some trouble with the coupon working in the MP store in the recent past.

As for the differences between the two lines, different buckles, different hides, some are waterproof, etc. The same thing that different from any of the versions of the "normal" Paci line.

Thanks for the advice I mailed customer service at Mario Paci (the timeconnection email seems invalid) and hopefully they will get back to me.

Tootall; this is my first purchase from tc, I have a couple of Greg straps waiting for my Davidsen Fiddy when he cracks his movement supply problems. I decided to look at MP straps as I bought one on ebay for my 232 and it just seems a quality item and nicer than the Bob vertigo strap I rashly bought which is ok but seems more processed and is residing in a drawer unused. Also I am in the UK and the weak dollar makes these straps a good buy - two for the price of the ebay MP.

Hooligan; I remember you posting re: Davids 201a, you might be interested to learn he has changes the hand colour to white. And yes the period of the strap design is a good observation, so will go Lorenzo and either mocha or cognac, coupon permitting.

GeF and simona straps look really nice too but two OF for $200 (100gbp) after coupon seems good value to me.

Thanks again for the insight

For that type of money you could get two custom made straps. Greg is not the only dog in the race, and even more so now that he doesn't make his own straps.

Yep, you sure could. However, I don't think anyone can argue that the MP straps are worth the price of admission. I love my straps from savage, SMAT, Stevens and HK Tan but I also love my MP straps. Different horses for different courses, as it were. They all fill a niche and are all worth the prices they command, IMO.

Bespoke can be good but if you are an impatient type like myself and the watch is on the way it's nice to be able to just buy some thing straight off.

I will need to take time to look at some of the custom makers. Greg is looking a little pricey now he's outsourching, which is a shame as his naturale is a thing of beauty.

Choosing straps harder than choosing a watch! One minute i'm thinking an MP1 is perfect for a 201a then an OF and now a GeF Palombari tan is in current pole position.

Anyway i'll post pics when I make my mind up.

Thanks again
