Looking for two types of straps for my brand new Davidsen 183H. It is a beaut, but I don't like the straps I got with it: Looking for 1) classic/formal black strap to wear with dress shirt/slacks and 2) casual strap to wear with jeans. Though Davidsen did send me a black croc the scales are not square nor uniform, so I am kind of turned off, but can't tell if it is because of my preconditioning to the OEM (large uniform square scales) or it just not that good of a strap. Any suggestions?...I would like to see other's choices for their historics. I open to calf as well. I appreciate this maybe difficult as strap choices are endless and subjective. I bought a used gen Pam black 'Gator for mine, the tapered design and a deployant makes for a very comfy strap. I think the Rads always look a little more dressy.

I don't do exotics, so can't help you with the croc. But, I just got in a new leather that looks like will be perfect for casual situations. I don't have a 183, but here's a pic with it on my Zero.
It's a graphite blue or a dusty blue. I custom-mixed an edge finish for it, but I could also do the edges in black which would look sharp. The stitching is a gray/silver color, but could also easily be changed to black, white, etc.
Let me know what you think.

That would be a great blue jeans strap, IMO. Damn, I'm going to have to get one for my 010D rep.
My "casual" strap for my now sold gen PAM210 was a Savage strap in Antique Tan. The coloration was perfect, IMO, and the gentleman who bought the 210 was pleased as punch that I sent the strap along with it. Said he would leave it on the watch for a LONG time.

That's a shame about the 210 departing, but sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Glad to hear that the buyer liked the strap. That hide was the very first leather I purchased and I still like it very much...and have a strap of my own from it.
