Can someone show me the way ...how to make my own PAM strap ??

How do you make the strap ..with all the stiching ??

what tools that you need for the stiching bit ?

is it ok to use just glue ??

what sort of thread you use for the stiching ?

please help me ..I really want to make my own strap ..LOL

Im pretty interested as well...

I've seen some walk-throughs online but they all have to do with very high end leathers and fabrics, from what I've read, its deff not cheap to start

My father does a lot of leather work, he normaly makes 8 foot to 16 foot bull whips. He has made exactly 2 straps, one for me and one for him. He told me, when he gave it to me, that he was never ever making another one again. He may have been doing something different, but he said it was a huge pain in the ass.

I do know this, if you want to buy some really soft leather at a good price go look for some kangaroo hide. High quality stuff at a reasonable price. This is the leather my Dad uses for all his whips.

As a firearms instructor and officiando, I have been making leather holsters, belts, and other goods for a short while. Let me start by saying that if you're doing it to save a few bucks, don't bother since it's a real pain without a sewing / stitching machine. If, however, you want the satisfaction of wearing something you made, then I understand.

You'll need some sort of leather. Depending on where you live, you may or may not be able to source some locally. You'll probably want to see it in person when just starting out so you can see and feel the different types and weights available. Then you'll need some basic tools -- punches (for the holes), knives, "skivers", and a stitching awl / needle. Personally, I always glue AND sew liners to make sure that they stay put.

While I haven't made a leather watch strap, I have made dog and cat collars; and I can tell you that there is a fair amount of work and time involved for you if you don't have the machinery to die cut leather and sew it together.

LOL He has people ask all the time how bad it will hurt someone to hit them with a bull whip. There are some very very strange people in the world.

I used to work as a writer of Role Playing Games. I know what weird emails are like.

As with all things, anything taken out of context can be extremely wrong, and on one occasion even had the armed response unit called out to our office ... pre 9/11.

I've actually already success made one leather strap on my own..for me ..around here...is easy to get all sort of leather..but snake is difficult...LOL..

oh yes..my strap ..is actually totally out of the normal panerai design ..more rough n rugged..asking for PICs? I would love to show it ..but at the moment..still havent got any camera yet..will try to source a camera soon ...

but for sure..I will show my Pams ..and all the straps that I will made..I;ve alraedy made 1 strap ...that exactly match my belt...same material leahter..and I love it ..

Hey, it could be worse, it could be RWG2 off-topic meandering...

By the way, Elliot uses some choice bits for his straps. The Waterproofing on them meant that bleaching my Toscana Oreo took ages.

Ic ok...the water proofing...at the moment..Im not into that level yet..all the weather proofing or water proofing...My pam cant handle water i think..LOL..soo no need strap like that LOL
