Ok, here is a super quick and dirty guide for you. If you still need help..
These are the two basic stitching styles I use and have learned. The arrows in the pictures is the point of the needles. The rectangular shape in the middle is the leather.
Saddle stitch
This is a strong stitch, you need two needles
. Only use one thread
1. start like this
2. Into the same hole, from opposite sides
3. pull through
4. repeat. remember to cross the needles the same way every time, so the stitches look the same.
Back stitch
This stitch can be done with only one needle. Looks very good at front but leaves a mess on the other side. Great if you can conceal the stitches or make a small groove on the backside.
1. start at the second hole from the backside up to the front
2. down into the first hole.
3. up again through the third hole from the backside
4. down in the second hole, and continue up in the fourth, down in the third and so on.. This time also remember to cross the thread the same way, or it will loke like chaos on the backside..
The ends I just cut and burn or glue, very close or inside one of the holes. Or you can wrap it around the edge a few times first to fasten it and then cut, it depends on what style you want.
