I've read several post on Strap Culture straps and based on the generally positive comments I am on the verge of purchasing this strap

However, I've read a couple of comments that people felt that the straps were a little thin (Not sure of the specific band). The one I'm looking at is listed at 5mm to 5.5mm and looks pretty thick. My questions are: Would you buy a thicker band? and if so, Does anyone know of a thicker alternative that looks similar to this band?

Thanks in Advance

5mm is about as thick as I like to go. I don't like straps that are thicker than the lugs. It looks out of proportion to me.

Having said that, I have that exact strap on my MM20 rep and I like it very much so far....

Even 5mm to 5.5mm is considered too thick for some people. It's a matter of taste.

I personally prefer something around this thickness and anything thicker looks stupid on my tiny wrist

Mind posting a pic? I'd appreciate it cause I was considering ordering this strap. Changed my mind and ordered the Antiqua Semi-brown this morning but still thinking about getting it down the line at some point.

One thing I don't like is that that pic looks so different from what they show on their website. The only reason I even considered getting the Historic Brown #1 is from seeing it (this picture) posted in SC's sales thread on Paneristi.

Thanks.

I'd like to second the last post. The two pictures of the Historic Brown look like two different straps and I am a bit curious as to which one is the most accurate.

Size wise, it sounds like the 5 to 5.5 is a good middle of the road width?

I like strap culture straps a lot. I got my sc historic brown for $84 when seth was doing his promo. For what I paid i think you get a worth while product.

He's currently offering 15% off and $5 shipping. Not as good as $84 but I paid $91.70 shipped for a $102 strap ($112 with shipping).

Check Paneristi for details.

He has lots of really nice-looking straps on there. I had a really, really tough time making a decision between several of the Legend and Antiqua straps. The only thing I don't like is the skull and crossbones on the buckle of the Legend straps. I think it's silly.

I'm neither a pirate nor a little child to think that's cool. Seriously...

If I bought the Historic Brown #1, I was going to request that another buckle be provided instead (or try to polish out the skull of not; hopefully it isn't bead-blasted in).
