Strap change woes - can I buy push pins?

I received my 177 today and removed the rubber strap to put on my favourite leather but I can screw them back in. It goes about 1/2 a turn then seems stuck and goes no further.

I'm not sure if I've burred the screw or the screwdriver or whether there's a particular technique with the 177. Does anyone know where I can buy some pushpins in the uk?

Thanks

Try lining them up and turning them as if you are unenlightening until you feel it enter then tighten it.
also a little silicon grease on the screw end often helps as well

Grab some spring bars. Since getting them I've never gone back to screws.

+1. Stainless on stainless can seize on you.

If you get spring bars, consider the fat ones suitable for dive watches.

Yep, they are also nice and thick at 2.5mm as well as the ends being the correct dia to fill the holes in a watch that had screws. One end is larger than the other.

very sorry to hash up an old thread.
i have a 111 and i think it has the spring bars with screws.
however mine does not seem to come undone.
do i push in slightly and unscrew until it pops out?
or is there some other method?

thank you by the way
