strap change issue on 292K ceramic

I just got the 292K from TD and I'm having a lot of trouble getting the straps secure. One of the "lug sticks" actually came out upon arrival.

It seems that the ceramic shell is not secure and it can move from the metal frame. Once moved the lug sticks would not catch onto the lug screw. I've tried many times tightening the lug screws but the ceramic shell would move and the lug sticks would fall right out.

Is this a known issue? What's the fix? I'm thinking that if I make the holes bigger on the lug sticks, the lug screw can actually be screwed into it.

Here are some pics:
the side without the crown slips more, the ceramic shell actually moves...

I'm afraid you have the dreaded lug hole issue.

This is well known with the 292 as the case is a two part set. One part ceramic and one part DLC steel. When you screw in the lug bar screws it actually pushes the two parts of the case apart and thus the lug bar comes out. it comes from them not using the correct glue for ceramic.

Wiz can perform a repair on this with the correct ceramic bonding glue. His costs are pretty reasonable with the process involved.

Yep this is exactly whats happening... I think I'll see if I can get a replacement from the dealer.

Good luck, AFAIK they do not recognise this as a QC issue and will not replace defective units. I know because I tried.
