STOLEN WATCH COLLECTION

Hey Guys, the unthinkable has happened. Someone robbed my apt on Thursday the 13th of March (entered w/crowbar) in the Barcelona Spain area.

Apart from many other personal items they nabbed my entire watch collection.

So please keep an eye out for any of these watches being sold online.

Many of the watches have Thomas Leather Handmade leather straps on them (stamped on the back with logo).

All watches are reps EXCEPT the IWC Portugieser, Breitling, Seikos, and the vintage watches (Hamilton). The Fiddy was not stolen.

FYI: after robbing my apt, they forgot to take with them a shopping bag with groceries and a receipt. So my guess is that the police will be able to catch them using the prints in the bag and the surveillance footage from the supermarket.

Oh man sorry to hear it. Sounds like Barcelona is not a place you flash your watches around. I've heard of so many thefts and muggings in the area.

What did you tell the police about your collection? It's either EU100k+ or replicas that they may not treat as worthy of their time. Tough one.

If that's true, then I have great admiration for the police force over there in Spain. Fingers crossed you manage to get a result.

Here in the UK, solving burglaries is no longer something the police seem to consider part of their job description. They'd rather just leave you to sort it out with the insurance company, while they go hand out a few more speeding tickets.

That's horrible. Fingers crossed they do catch the bastards. You should perhaps call a few local pawn shops as well and put the word out? I'm thinking they pissed themselves thinking they hit the jackpot grabbing your collection causing them to forget their personal stuff.

That absolutely sucks and I echo what p0pperini said, same in Ireland unfortunately (in my experience anyway)

I was broken into many moons ago, entire watch collection taken (bar one on my wrist) & told to sort with insurance. That's fine, just paperwork, photos & lessons learnt since then.

But I then spotted one of them on a local sales site.
Knew 100% it was mine as I had the matching paperwork/serial etc & they were selling watch only.

Got all the pictures, evidence and went to the police. Their response was 'sure you got the money from the insurance, what more do you want?' hwell:

Maybe to not let this scumbag benefit from selling stolen goods. Maybe as a deterrent. Maybe to do your job, I dunno, anything!:atwitsend:

Whoah that sucks mate. I’ve been robbed too and it’s a shit thing to happen. And funnily enough as stated above the police didn’t do anything.

Fingers crossed they catch them. Very wise of then to to leave the groceries!!! The receipt and footage at supermarket could be enough.

I’ll keep an eye out. But pawn shops a good idea, maybe even a search alert on chrono if they think they’re the real deal.

Very sad thing. Barcelona is known for many thefts and robberies, about every 5 minutes a robbery happens. I myself was robbed on the street in September of my most beautiful Hublot ice bang. Filed a police report and haven't heard anything back. It is a pity to lose such a beautiful collection in this way.

So sorry to hear about this...

I think that contacting pawn shops could be a great idea, specially bc the straps are quite recognizable as you stated.

I would also advise you to contact some watch aficionados of Barcelona. I think most probably the thieves think that they won the lottery and all watches are real and will try to source them selling in private deals in order to keep away of police and official shops that will have to keep their data.

I do follow on instagram a really nice guy from Barcelona who has a page to post about his collection of watches and probably if you talk with him he could maybe post it advising about all the stolen watches included in the collection that may be already offered for sale or talk with some friends of him to keep them warned about it and contact you if they are offered any of those watches on the next days. Damn this is a nightmare, basically the worst case scenario. Hopefully the can be recovered. The bag of groceries and the receipt could've been left behind to throw you and the police off. Did the police look for prints?
