I just joined yesterday, but I've been reading a lot (last night and today) and I seem to have learned quite a bit about what goes on around here. The various styles of watches, the various types of Panerai's that I personally like, etc.

So let me get to the point already! I've been looking at a few 177's and I've narrowed down to what I like, both price and quality...
It would be great if you could let me know of anything I need to be weary of in the following timepieces:

I like the Ti, I like the brushed look and I like the sweep seconds dial at 9 o'clock. Those are basically my major criteria, and it seems the 177 is the only one that offers all of them...

Also I can't afford to spend too much money since I recently bought a gen Tissot (hehe good timing eh?) so, best bang for your buck... what do you think? Any and all opinions wanted! :)

Pure bang for the buck? Get the Asian movement one. It's actually a decent movement. For my money? it would be Davidsen

I would go for the asian version with swan neck. Get the cheapest one for now and mod it later. A modded version I believe is better than Davidsen's.

Sorry, what's a swan neck? :)

Also.. is it standard to have a 177 with a blue case? Or is that a mod? I love the blue case in the pic below, and I think it'd be either something I want in my purchase or would definitely mod later on. And, what's this I hear about a cannon pin? Can someone fill me in on some issues I need to look at in the area of mods, etc? :):):)

The dial is black, it looks blue because of the AR on the crystal.

Pmed you pn the dealer.

The blue screw at 10 o'clock. there's a metal piece that surrounds that screw and the regulator needle. That's what a swan neck is.

Blue case? All the 177H cases are natural ti color. The blue hue in that pic is a reflection of the sky.

Mods you should do are:

cannon pin for swiss only - if you get asian there is no need
super lume dial
davidsen hands
palp crown

If you don't know what these mods are, just search.
