Stem won't install into movement... what am I doing wrong?

2824 clone... Trying to install the stem. Before I cut it it goes in fine, after I cut it it won't click in all the way despite measuring and trying many different stem lengths. Am I going something wrong?

When I remove the stem and depress the stem removal button, the movement starts ticking.

I don't know the details but from what you said, take a look at the keyless work, it's the easiest screw-up part of a 2824 IMO.

Install the stem AND press the release button. If that does not do it, the keyless will probably need a reset.
