So I felt like removing a piece of dust from the inside of the crystal in my 112 and made a mistake - removed the stem in the time setting position. Now it won’t go into wind position, can be all in and all it does is set time.

Any easy solution or am I screwed?

Hmm, I’m no pro on this, but somehow I remember stem removed at time setting position is okay, you’ll need to push a button to insert back the stem. Or it might be your keyless problem. (I’m not sure whether what I’m saying is correct or wrong)

From what I know now (15 minutes too late) is that in 6497 the stem should be removed in winding position ONLY.

The keyless works may need to be reset, which includes a disassembly of part of the movement.

However, perhaps if the keyless is still in time setting position, and you try to re-insert the stem until the exact time setting placement, then their may not be a need to reset the keyless.

Excellent! Well done.
Very gratifying I’m sure.

Shame, just as I was going to suggest that if you place it on the Daytona cushion, you may attract more assistance.

Yeah, the scariest bit was the hands - the very first time I removed and reinstalled the hands - luckily it’s a base PAM with just two fairly big hands, perfect for a start.

And yes, the „cushion” could probably attract more attention, will try next time :)

Now that is interesting, the watch now winds smoother, less noisy. Strange.
