Over the last year (literally, roughly 13 months) I've been working with SpongeBob closely to develop a platinum mod for the Yacht-Master insert.
In my opinion this has always been one of the most obvious flaws of the replicas.. It just doesn't seem possible to brush the steel insert in a way that accurately resembles the platinum insert of the gen..
After lots of trial and error, comparison of my gen YM, numerous destroyed BP inserts, and a shitload of patience... SpongeBob finally has completed the moulds and sandblasting techniques needed to achieve a near 1:1 looking insert mod...

I should be able to FINALLY get my Franken back by this weekend, will update with some pictures and try to get a few side-by-side with gen!
Lastly, for those curious - SpongeBob has mentioned he plans to price the mod the same as the ceramic inserts: $195
Currently he doesn't have stock inserts, so he can only offer the mod if an existing insert is sent to him. I believe the mould is only for the Noob inserts currently, but would need to check with him about ARF and JF.
