Speedy Pro Modification???

I have one of the "good" Speedy Pros with the full size case and domed crystal....beautiful watch, but, even though it is the same size, it seems smaller on the wrist than my full size Broad Arrow. I believe that the reason is the illusion of the chrome dial ring.

The rep Speedy Pro has a "silver" ring around the inside of the bezel (around the dial inside the watch case)....not only is this different from the gen, but it also makes the watch appear smaller than the 42mm that the case is. Does anyone know if, upon disassembly of the watch, can you just take that inner ring out, and paint it a matte black that would either match, or blend with the dial, thus making the dial appear larger?

I may be wrong but......

...i think the 'silver ring' is part of the watch case.

if you removed the movt & dial, and then the crystal, this 'ring'
may not drop out. But of course, you could still paint it.

and if yiu were to do that, be sure to use primer. You dont want flakes
of paint coming off in a few months time!! :shock:
