Not sure if this was expected or if its accurate but I just saw this page of new reps on the Chinese rep forum, always wanted a speedy and although I do not know much about this particular model I love its looks.

Here is the full thread:

DESCRIPTION:
The OMEGA Speedmaster is one of OMEGA’s most iconic timepieces. The Moonwatch "First Omega in Space" was inspired by the watch worn by astronaut Wally Shirra in 1962 as he orbited the earth during the "Sigma 7" mission. This numbered edition model features a bold varnished black dial with a small seconds dial, a 30-minute recorder and 12-hour recorder, along with a central chronograph hand and a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The black bezel, with its tachymetric scale, is mounted on a 39.7 mm stainless steel case with symmetric lugs, and the watch is presented on a brown leather strap. At the heart of this chronograph is OMEGA's calibre 1861, the famous manual-winding movement that was worn on the moon, which is covered by a caseback embossed with the original 1962 Seahorse.

Thank you for this info, Doud!

You've done some nice research here... Do you hang around these chinese forums a lot? Can you tell something more about this Speedmaster? A prospect on the availability maybe?

I'm not a Speedmaster-expert, but after a quick comparison with some genuines pictures I found out:

PROS
* Crown seems to be smaller than in previous reps, more gen-like.
* Tachymètre with correct "è"
* closed caseback ftw ;)
* all the hands seem to be replicated very well
* the subdial at 6 seems to be either a working hour counter, or to be a "false" subdial at least. No 24-hour indicator or something else, which doesn't exist in the gen

CONS
* subdial spacing still way off
* the hour markers seem to have a slight yellow tint in the genuines pictures. In the rep, they are bright white. Don't know if it's a matter of the photograph or post processing or so... see pictures below
* bezel font seems to be a bit bolder than the gen

Overall, this rep might be worth to consider! The subdial spacing is a big tell for us folks, but numerous owners of a genuine Speedmaster won't know about the spacings on their dial, tho

Keep us updated when you collect new informations! I like Speedmasters and I'd appreciate to have the opportunity of buying a decent rep...

Thank you for your list of pros and cons.
If its priced reasonably i will get it, the yellowish vs white markers might be the most annoying tell as the subdial issue isn't one that can bed fixed anyways.

Yes, I check the chinese forum from time to time and in particular this thread to see what new reps are announced, sadly I don't speak chinese and google translate is most of the times useless.

Sometimes reps that are shown there never make it to this forum or our TDs. I am sure this Speedmaster, despite its flaws will still be advertised by our TDs here.
Ffor example there is a picture of a Breguet Reine de Naples in the same thread and it is my lady's dream watch, now I just have to ask my TD to find out more about it but without the Chinese forum I most likely wouldn't know it exists in rep form...

Well, obviously there exists at least one piece, which is depicted here. So they should be able to mass-produce this, right? I hope so, because I'm tempted to buy this at a reasonable price, too...

Yes, I strongly believe this will be mass produced if it is not already.
My point was that at times I see watches on the chinese forum that our TDs do not bother to advertise on their websites or on the forums, but I don't doubt they are still produced in same quantities as all other reps and sold by other replica dealers.
You can have a look for yourself here: http://watchbus.net/forum.php?mod=forumdisplay&fid=46

I have to correct myself: there are plenty of pictures in the web taken by genuine's owners. The markers seem to be all white in the gen. Take a look:

Thanks for the gen pics and good news on the color.
So the markers are only flawed at 3, 6 and 9 where they had to be shorten to fit the incorrectly spaced sub dials?
Do you guys know if the gen dial has this grainy/matte texture to it?

The indices at 3/6/9 would have to be as long as all the other hour indices, correct. But not only that, the face of the watch changes completely when the subdials get closer to each other. It's something you can notice out of the corner of one's eye, imho

I know someone who has a gen reine de Naples and it's a stunner of a watch

Agreed, I am just eager to see what the back looks like as the gen has an open case back. But so far the rep looks good.

Good news on the dial texture and color.
You are right it is very easy to spot the misplaced subdials and the shorter white markers highlight it even more.
Lets hope the price is right and I will get it as it is still a gorgeous watch.

Sorry, until they fix the subdials there is no way I'll own a Speedy rep and I think I'll own the gen before that happens.
Those China forums are a mine of infomation however, keep the posts coming.

It's tempting!

I'm with trailboss somehow: in the end, those misplaced subdials are too obvious. The 268 bucks can be invested in watches which are replicated better by a mile...

Still, I have to resist to pull the trigger... :ambivalence:
