Shocked by "the scratch" or "the scratches"? It seems pretty uniformly covered in them, which isn't surprising for a couple of years' wear. Try a Cape Cod cloth for removing the scratches, but go gently on the plated sections of the bracelet. You can use a buffer wheel on a Dremel or bench polishing wheel to get the worst scratches out (but if going that route, you should mask off the gold parts).

I've also been recommended "SILVO" Tarnish Guard - a metal polish wadding that is apparently great for buffing up gold plating. I bought some, but haven't tried it out yet.

If you check at the rehaut under the 6 o'clock hour marker, you will notice a serial code. It's well known that EWF produce all their cases with serial numbers starting with ER6J
