Hi Folks, I just received my 111j from a trusted dealer and I'm not very pleased with the watch.

I thought I'd ask some opinions to guage if I'm being too fussy (I've read loads of posts like this ) and should I just be grateful it has arrived!

Here are my points and some pics.

There is a scratch on the inside of the glass between 4-5, the hour hand is slightly bent upwards and sits obviously higher at the outside markers than at the pin, the pin on the cg sits high on top and sunk underneath, the lume fades after 15 mins or so.
I have taken three pics at different times, light just out, 5 mins later and the third is after 15 mins. At 15 mins the camera makes it look better an it actually is.
I asked for a tan strap but it came with rubber and was told I was getting a free leather strap as a sweetener for the amount of time it took to actually get the piece. Check out the fit!

Enough of the grumblin', here are some pics.

I wouldn't accept this. Did you receive quality check photos that showed the cracked glass. I would contact the seller and send it back.

Just to clarify, the glass is not cracked, only (HA!) scratched. The scratch is the straight line in the pic between the 4 and 5 dial markers.

The semi-circle mark is a light reflection.

Thanks for the reply. No I did not get any qc pics.

The watch has been ''fully'' mod'd by the dealer with AR coating etc etc. You'd think they would have seen the faults when that was being done.

Is this as good as the best lume (c3/c1 ) gets? Because that's what I paid for.

The scratch is not that bit, it would bother me because i give attention to the details, and if this has been ar treated it should bohter you too.
As for the lume, if you had that modded too and it lasts only for 15 minutes, thats is unacceptable too.
And last the gap at the strap is big...
So if i were you, i wouldnt be happy, if i had paid for mods and got that thing you received then i would be really frustrated...

The lume is not c1/c3 on the 111J. That is from the H factory on the 111m. The 111J has lume that is mediocre at best so the lume you are talking about is to be expected.

The crystal is another story. Is it scratched for sure? Can you feel it on the outter side of the crystal? Im thinking it might be hair...Is there any light distortion when looking at that one area?

Or is this from a modder already?

Hi,

I paid the dealer extra for a mod'd 111j. I was told it would be relumed with c3/c1, from what you are hinting it has not been done. So that's money down the drain!

The scratch is definitely on the inside, and visible from different angles when the light hits it. it could be a hair, but I've given the watch a gentle tap to see if it moves, it does not.

The hour hand sits about 2mm up from the face at the outside and about 1mm at the cannon pin. That's not right either.

Yes it is from a dealer/modder, and I paid over $400 to include a range of mods.

Beginning to think I've been stiffed!

Request a refund and find another dealer perhaps! The scratch alone would be enough for me, and if he sent you that leather strap, it's far too thin for the watch. If you paid for better lume, you sure didn't get it. Have you contacted the dealer about the problems??

Thanks for the replies guys. You have more or less said what I think.

Today I noticed the screw at the regulator is not touching the ''sword'' I don't think that is right either but I'm willing to be educated! Is it?

I've tried to capture the raised outside of the hour hand here

I've now pm'd the dealer with a link to this thread to let him see the issues and now I'm just waiting for a reply.

-regulator is not touching the ''sword''?
this is normal
-the hour hand raised a little?
is normal all my Pams have this, it looks like this because of the crystal, hard to judge by just pictures
-the lume has been relumed or is not the original 111j lume because the lume on the 111j is very bad the hands and dial doesn't match at all, hands are blue I think and the dial is bright green.
was the lume charged outside or inside?
if inside this is normal to only stay really bright for 15 mins
-the scratch/hair/lent
this is not normal

nice of him to offer a refund
